We are delighted to present below an audio recording of the event that took place on 29 March 2025 at 6 p.m. in the Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw (Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28).
This was an important event, organised by our Library in cooperation with the Musicologists’ Section of the Polish Composers’ Union and the University Library in Warsaw, crowning the project entitled ‘Józef Koffler – Lwów and European Composer’. The evening’s programme consisted of two parts: the presentation of a new website dedicated to the composer (https://koffler.polmic.pl) and the world premiere of Józef Koffler’s rediscovered String Quartet. Both parts filled us with pride, but we attached particular importance to the musical part, because it is the sound of music that is of particular importance and is the ultimate goal of numerous musicological activities. Our pride was all the greater because the world premiere of the Koffler’s Quartetwas undertaken at our request by the famous

The project was co-financed from the state budget,
granted by the Minister of Education and Science as part of the ‘Social Responsibility of Science II’ programme.
